Death of Captain Benny Kerton

Benjamin John Kerton joined the Fredericton Fire department at the age of 29 as a full time member in 1950.

While in his 26th year of service, on January 26th 1976, Captain Kerton and his crew were called to a working fire on Regent Street. Benny did not feel well at all during the fire and he died of a heart attack the next day.

The funeral was held January 30th at the Christ Church Parish Church on Westmorland Street.
