![]() The First Traffic TicketIn giving judgement in the case of driver Doucet of the Fire Department, Col Marsh said he could not find anything in the laws to justify breaking the bye-law regarding furious driving by the Fire Chief or anybody else. He thought driver Steve Doucet acted very injudiciously. The driver being under the impression that he had a right under the orders of the chief engineer to run his horse on the back streets, his honour decided to impose a penalty of $10 or 10 days.
An exemption was granted in the bye-law the next day by city council to allow the firemen to exercise the fire horses on George Street between Regent and York Streets.
